Each Evolution Fresh Real Fruit Soda is made with organic, freshly squeezed fruit juice, never from concentrate. The product contains no added sugar and prebiotic fiber, probiotics, and antioxidant Vitamin C to help support digestive and immune health. Soda consumption declined consistently over the decade leading up to 2015, in part because of backlash from a health-conscious public and a series of soda-tax battles; some soda drinking was also displaced by the likes of energy drinks, coffee, and bottled water. However, in 2017, the CDC announced that rates of sugary-beverage consumption had plateaued—at a rate far above the government-recommended limit. Now soda sales are ticking back up modestly: Coca-Cola and Dr Pepper both saw soda-case sales rise in the past year, and total sales volumes for soft drinks have risen, according to the investment-bank advisory firm Evercore ISI; last year, Coca-Cola was among the fastest-growing brands for women, Morning Consult found. Soda is having a cultural moment too: Addison Rae’s “Diet Pepsi” was a, if not the, song of the summer. And the U.S. president-elect is famously a fan of Diet Coke, reportedly drinking a dozen a day during his first term.

The partnership also includes Dana White, CEO of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). “Building on our commitment to consistently deliver quality and innovation, Anheuser-Busch is excited to partner with 1st Phorm, a company and brand that shares our vision and passion for creating products that meet the evolving needs of consumers.” Brendan Whitworth, CEO of Anheuser-Busch, said. “This brings together two American manufacturers with proud St. Louis roots and complementary expertise.”

“Flavors, and especially exotic fruits flavors, are a very approachable way to branch out beyond the basics and offer differentiation by flavor,” she says. “Exotic fruits also bring a lot of other connotations that provide a more inclusive sensory experience. They are often brightly colored, innately sweet without the need to add extra sugar, bring other complex notes to round out the flavor and provide a tropical or global vibe — all desirable characteristics for younger consumers, in particular.”

Jamu is as Indonesian as nasi goreng (Javanese fried rice) and gado-gado (salad with peanut sauce). Yet outside of the country, the ancient tincture is not widely known.

Jamu is believed to have originated more than 1,300 years ago, created in the royal court as an elixir for longevity. Since then, it has continued to fuel Indonesians as a natural pick-me-up, remedy against ailments, and immune system booster. To many Indonesians, jamu is more than a drink. It’s a cultural, historical and spiritual homage to their country’s heritage and traditions.

Weather adversities have been hampering the production for five consecutive seasons, which resulted in restricted inventories of juice.

Cepea calculations indicate that Brazilian orange juice stocks may not recover during the 2024/25 crop, ending this season technically zero. Thus, a very positive 2025/26 season will be necessary to have at least a slight recovery.

Not even a decrease of exports in the 2024/25 season will be enough to compensate for the reduction in the volume of fruit processed, which will maintain the demand from the industry at high levels.

The Chinese community holds the belief that oranges bring blessings and prosperity for the year ahead, particularly when exchanged as gifts. “Giving oranges is also a gesture of gratitude for the support received throughout the year, whether in life or business,” said Tan Swee Kong, a pomelo trader.

According to the owner of Go Chin Tambun Pamelo Agro Farm, the size of the fruit holds significance, as larger oranges are believed to bring greater fortune to the recipient. Tan, 58, further noted that popular choices for Chinese New Year gifts include mandarin oranges, calamansi, and pomelos.

The California Farm Bureau has reported a significant downturn in the citrus harvest within the Central Valley, attributed to the absence of migrant farmworkers amid fears of deportation. This situation arises in the wake of President-elect Donald Trump's announcements regarding mass deportations. The apprehension among the agricultural workforce has been exacerbated following recent immigration enforcement actions targeting undocumented immigrants with criminal records.

The São Paulo state citrus belt in Brazil is a major citrus production region. Since at least 1957, citrus plantations in this region have been affected by citrus canker, an economically damaging disease caused by Xanthomonas citri subsp. citri (Xcc). For about 50 years, until 2017, a citrus canker eradication programme was carried out in this region. In this work, our aim was to investigate the effects of the eradication programme on genetic variability and evolution of Xcc.

In this study, 15 CcCCO genes were found in C. clementina. The number of introns in CcCCO genes varies from one to fourteen, based on structural analysis. The promoter of the CcCCO genes contained cis-regulatory elements related to light responsiveness, cell proliferation, aerobic induction, hormone responsiveness, and certain abiotic stress, which suggested that these elements play a role in the abiotic stress suffered by C. clementina. The overexpressing specific genes such as CcNCED1 and CcNCED3, along with suppressing downregulated genes, could contribute to developing stress-resistant clementine cultivars, thereby enhancing yield production.
