Florida citrus update shows only marginal increase

and... High orange juice prices may be on the table for a while due to disease and extreme weather.

Wow… last week was a busy week and one fully in the spirit of waste. Food Waste.

For the first time I attended the Food Waste Solutions Summit in Baltimore and I was blown away. 3 days, over 700 people and an overwhelming show of solutions, implementations, results and potential to achieve set goals for 2030.
There is so much going on beyond the food loss and food waste streams, and it is difficult to grasp the sheer volumes that are being redirected, diverted or donated away from landfills and cattle feed.

But it is not enough yet. The food loss part is what our industry is closest related to and it makes a lot of sense – in these dire times that require heightened efficiency in our food supply chain – to raise more awareness for the solutions out there AND to seek which implementations make most sense.

I’m inspired. Food (loss) for thought.
