Report on the Economic Sustainability of the Brazilian Citrus Industry (2025-2026 Outlook)

This report analyzes the economic sustainability of Brazil's citrus industry for the 2025/2026 season. Orange production costs are projected to rise by 15-16% due to increased expenses for harvesting, freight, and inputs like pesticides for HLB (greening) control. While a larger harvest is anticipated, potentially tempering record prices, profitability hinges on high yields and effective management of risks like HLB and climate variability. Individualized farm-level cost control is crucial for navigating these challenges and ensuring long-term viability in a complex market environment.
