Beverage startup Hydrant just raised $8.5 million and is bulking up its marketing muscle to take on Gatorade

Originally a direct-to-consumer brand, Hydrant entered traditional retail stores over the past year and now sells its products in about 10,000 retail stores, including Walmart, Target, and GNC.
